TITAN POLLUTION CONTROL, the Kingspan Group PLC owned manufacturer of domestic and commercial sewage treatment plants, have today announced their largest ever contract installation at the prestigious Four Season Hotel at Dogmersfield Park in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
The brief was to create a bespoke system able to handle a standard daily discharge of 140m³ with an average biological load representative of 800 full time residents. This biological load had to be treated to an equivalent of 20mg/l of BOD, 30mg/l of suspended solids and 10mg/l of ammonia.
In response, Titan Pollution control devised a system of three number 300P/90 Biotec triple tanks all of which were set in a parallel formation. The flow between each was then equally distributed between the 'streams' by a 72,000 litre Balance Tank coupled with an advanced multiple Airlift Forward Feed.
Before work began, the contract was also put out to tender with principle competition coming from Conder, one of Titan's main market rivals. To win the specification, Titan devised a strategic confidence building campaign principally aimed at the on-site project consultant. This was achieved through a number of factory visits and meetings with various key members of staff.
This was followed by a 'recce' to an example of a 250P Biotec triple tank system already installed by Titan. The company were also heavily involved in all stages of the process from assisting the contractor in the preparation of site layout drawings, actual site preparation as well as the planning, off loading and final installation of the tanks on site.
Following the success of Dogmersfield Park, Titan Pollution Control has been awarded specification of several similar size projects including an identical system for a site in Scotland and a slightly smaller one in St Lucia.
